Roasted Brussels Sprouts

Don't turn your nose up - they're good.

This is about the tastiest cooked veggie I have encountered in a very long time. I never thought of putting cumin on Brussels sprouts, but it is spectacular. The honey adds a slight sweetness that completely compliments the dish, and talk about easy…

1 pound of fresh or frozen Brussels sprouts
½ Tbs. honey
2 Tbs. slivered almonds
Ground Cumin

Put Brussels sprouts in a pan and sprinkle with cumin. I probably used five or six shakes. Drizzle with honey and add the slivered almonds.

Pop in the broiler for 10-15 minutes. About halfway through, I took the pan out of the oven and stirred them around. You want them to cook long enough so the tops brown just a bit. ENJOY. I don’t know the exact calories because I didn’t look up the calorie content of the Brussels sprouts. They’re free in my book. The honey is about 45 calories and the almonds add about 95 calories, which translates to about 3 points for the entire dish. These are definitely not the same veggies you turned your nose up at as a kid. Easy and tasty – what more could you want?
