Dill Dip with Zing

I thought it would be fun to share some of my food concoctions. I don’t have photos to include for the dip, but look for accompanying photos on future recipe posts. (I’ve decided that I will not quit my day job and become a food photographer.) Let me know what you think!

Look no further for an easy-to-make dill dip that tastes good and is healthy!

1 ½ c. Fat Free Plain Yogurt
2 TBS. Light Mayonnaise
2 TBS. Fat Free Sour Cream
1 tsp. dill – fresh or dried herb work well (more or less to taste is fine)
1-2 Cloves of Garlic
1/2 tsp. Salt (optional)
Dash of Pepper

Mix ingredients and chill. This dip is a great thing to make the day before you actually need it because the flavors meld together nicely. It keeps well for about a week. Serve with raw veggies or spoon a little over steamed vegetables.

Nutrition Information: Depending on the type of yogurt and mayo, the entire bowl contains approximately 225 calories, 17 grams of protein and 2 grams of fat. You can use Greek style yogurt to boost the creamy factor and double the protein, but it adds calories. Either way, this is a healthy alternative to the full-fat dips that are on the market, and you can throw it together in less than five minutes! Even if you devour half the bowl at the party, there is no collateral damage and you get a little extra calcium!
